A stunning and extremely rare norwegian Art Deco navette diamond ring crafted in 16kt white gold.
This beautiful piece was made in the 1940s by the skilled goldsmith Lars Harsheim in Oslo, Norway and is hallmarked by his signature viking ship.
What makes this piece one of a kind is the fact that historically Norway was an extremely poor country until the discovery of the oil industry in the 1970s. Because of this, finding original norwegian jewelry with precious stones prior to the 1970s is as rare as it can be. This ring must have been part of a collection of a very influential family. This is in fact the first piece of it’s kind I have found up to date and most likely the last as antique norwegian jewelry was mainly only made with gold and no precious stones.
The ring consists of approximately 0.36ctw transitional cut and single cut diamonds in a stunning filigree and millegrain setting.
The diamonds are of SI clarity and H-J color.
The gallery details are also to die for and the ring sits low and comfortable on the finger.
This beauty has a very romantic and elegant navette shape and measures 21x8.3mm on the top.
