An enchanting original French Edwardian ring, dating to the early 1900s and crafted in 18k gold and platinum, carefully restored with the addition of an exceptionally beautiful Sri Lankan moonstone at its centre.
The oval cabochon moonstone weighs approximately 1.20 carats and displays a transparent, light blue body colour with remarkable full-face adularescence. As the ring moves through different lighting and angles, its appearance transforms from almost crystal-clear to ethereal pale blue, violet and intense luminous blue. The floating light seems to travel across the entire surface of the stone, giving it an almost otherworldly quality.
The moonstone is surrounded by delicate rose-cut diamonds, individually set within an intricate platinum floral and foliate design. The openwork continues beautifully onto the shoulders, while the warm 18k gold shank creates the characteristic two-tone contrast found in fine French jewellery of the Edwardian period.
